Why should I partner
with EstateManual.com Publishing rather than another similar company?
EstateManual.com Publishing is the only company of its type on the Internet
focusing on a special niche in estate planning. And we believe our software
program is the only software of its type in the world. This means you are not
working in an overcrowded, price-driven marketplace. For you there is no direct
competition. (Even financial planners, for the most part, stay out of our
niche. Without a software program of their own, they could not justify the
expense in time.) Because it is something new, we may have to work a little
harder to make the sale (and we have that under control), but you make more
money.
Who can join your
associate program?
Any webmaster may apply, however EstateManual.com Publishing reserves the right
to refuse any site. We will NOT approve any applications from
web sites that:
- Promote sexually explicit materials or nudity
- Promote violence
- Promote any type of discrimination
- Promote illegal activities
- Violate copyrights or intellectual property rights
- Promote the use of bulk email or SPAM
How and when will I be paid?
Referral fees are paid monthly by check if there is $10 or more in the account.
If there is less than $10 in the account the amount will roll over to the next
month and accumulate there until the $10 minimum check is reached. Checks or
PayPal deposits are processed on the closest business day to the 30th
of the month following that during which commissions are earned.
How do you keep track of my sales?
We use the finest suite of software I
have been able to find for keeping track of your sales. It is supplied by
KowaBunga! Technologies. The core of the suite is MyAffiliateProgram. To this
we have added their Lifetime Commissions module. And we have added Opt-In Pro
for managing our extensive follow-ups and newsletters. We looked at other,
cheaper software solutions, but too much was at stake to risk anything but the
best.
When a user clicks through from your website your unique identifier will be
assigned to that session. Two things then happen. A unique Customer ID is
assigned to that person’s particulars in one of our databases. And a cookie
is placed on their hard drive that identifies your site as the referring site.
But, as we all know, cookies can be turned off or disabled. The Customer ID
is not something that can be turned off. If one exists, the customer had to
have bought previously. If it doesn’t exist, this must be a new customer who
will have a cookie attached to their order, and this new customer will
immediately be tagged with a unique Customer ID. If cookies are turned off or
otherwise disabled, the Customer ID tracks them for life. It is far more
accurate than phone numbers, last names (for women), addresses or email
addresses, all of which can change.
How can I create links to EstateManual.com Publishing?
Once you apply to be an associate you will be sent an email with the specific
link that you need to use when you link to our site. Remember that the user must
enter our site with your unique link for commission to be paid. Graphics will
also be made available to enhance your link to our site. You will also be
offered your choice of one-paragraph promotional texts and articles. There is
also a click here button to use with your own testimonials. Your
testimonials, giving both praise and criticism where you think it is
appropriate, are the most powerful pre-selling instruments there are when
promoted to your existing customers, perhaps in your newsletter, if you have
one. People who have bought from you before already trust you.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge to participate in our associates program. We are happy to
work with you so that we both may profit.
What if I need assistance?
Send an email message to tremayne@estatemanual.com,
call my private line (902.411.3848) between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern (please
respect this time), and if I am not there leave a message, or write to me at
301-3 Anchor Drive, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3K 3H7.
How can I view my statistics?
After registration you will have a unique login and password that allows you to
access your account information including sales and click throughs.
What are the responsibilities?
You are responsible for:
- Creating accurate links to our site so we may track your sales.
Just let me know if you’re stuck. I’m a writer, not a programmer, but if I
can’t help I have technical people who can
- Ensuring that your web site does not violate any copyright,
trademark, or other laws
- Ensuring that your web site contains material that is appropriate
for affiliation with EstateManual.com Publishing (and by that I mean that
it is aimed at or suitable for those who are 50 or older)
We are responsible
for:
- Turning your prospects into customers
- Order processing
- Delivering products
- Providing great customer service
- Paying you commission – and on time
- Searching for or
developing new products for you to offer
Will I earn commission for all products displayed on
EstateManual.com Publishing?
Yes. Orders that are not placed online are also eligible for commission so long
as the purchaser includes your special code, as provided to her, when ordering.
My web site is under construction ... can I apply now?
No. Your site must be “live” when you apply to become an associate member.
Please apply once your site is “live.”
My web site is outside the U.S. ... can I still join?
Yes, but please keep in mind that, at this time, some of our products’ content
is specific to the United States or Canada.
What if my content changes after I join the program?
As long as you do not violate any of our guidelines you can continue to operate
as an affiliate of EstateManual.com Publishing.
Can I use the EstateManual.com Publishing name in my press
release?
Yes, but only if you identify your relationship clearly as a member of our
associate program. At no time can you infer any other type of relationship.
Acceptance in our associate program is not an endorsement of your product(s) or
web site.
Who is this ‘we’ you refer to? EstateManual.com Publishing is a one-man
operation with lots of helpers and consultants. There's me, Sydney Tremayne,
author of The Estate Manual and designer of its electronic sister, THEMES™. My wife,
Helen, hates figures but does a good job of looking after the bookkeeping and
editing what I write. Here in Halifax there is a programmer, web designer, and
project manager. In Houston is a talented designer who prepares your banners,
buttons and other assorted artwork. So I am not comfortable saying “I” all the
time. This is a team effort with one exception: I take all the responsibility
and pay all the bills. I am the one you call when if there’s a problem
or if you see ways in which we can improve. (There’s a $100US reward for being
the first to suggest an idea for a new section in THEMES™.)
There are advantages to being small. One
is that we can pay much closer attention to you, and often do so much more
quickly than a bureaucracy. Here, your phone call is answered either by the Man
At The Top or by his Much More Pleasant Wife. ;-) We are at our best only if called between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Eastern. Wake us at 4 a.m. and you will be hung, drawn and quartered …
twice! ;-)
